Terms of service

Version 2026-08-06 — creating an account records the version you agreed to.

1. Acceptance

These terms are an agreement between you and Lamp, who runs this site. Creating an account means you expressly agree to them — the sign-up form asks you to confirm it, and your account records when you agreed and to which version. If you use the site without an account, using it is your acceptance. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, for everything done while signed in to your account, and for the accuracy of the details you provide. Do not share your account with anyone, and tell the operator immediately if you believe someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

On this testing installation, a fresh browser starts in Normal mode and may show novels marked 18+ without an account or stored adult declaration. Visitors can still choose Hide 18+ or Only 18+. By opening an 18+ title, you declare that you are an adult under the laws that apply to you.

3. Coins

Coins are this site’s virtual currency, used to unlock paid chapters. They are not legal tender, a bank deposit, or a transferable cash balance: they cannot be voluntarily exchanged back into money or transferred to another account. Coin purchases are normally final, but unused purchases may be refundable where mandatory withdrawal or consumer law requires it — see the refund policy, and section 10 below for the rights no policy can take from you. Coin pack prices and contents may change at any time, but changes never take away coins you already hold. Any remaining balance is forfeited if you delete your account; if the operator terminates your account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, the balance is likewise forfeited, subject to section 10.

4. Content and copyright

The novels, chapters, illustrations, and other material on this site are protected by copyright and remain the property of their respective rights holders. You agree not to copy, redistribute, republish, or resell any of it; not to use scripts, bots, or other automated tools to download or scrape content; and not to share unlocked content outside your own account. Concerns about content hosted here are handled under the content takedown policy.

5. Your conduct

Comments, reviews, and error reports are welcome; abuse is not. Do not post content that is unlawful — including content that infringes copyright or trademarks, defames someone, threatens, harasses, or incites violence, exposes another person’s private information, sexualizes minors in any way (such material is removed and reported to the authorities), or shows intimate content of a real person without their consent. Do not impersonate other people, spam, spread malware or fraudulent schemes, or probe, overload, or attempt to break the site’s security.

To limit spam, links are removed automatically from public chapter and paragraph comments, replies, announcement comments, and reviews before they are posted. A post made only of links is not saved. Private error reports may still include a relevant URL so staff can investigate it.

You keep ownership of what you write here. By posting a public comment, reply, announcement comment, or review, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it and display it publicly under your display name for as long as it remains posted; deleting it ends that licence. Private error reports are stored and used only to investigate and respond as described in the privacy policy.

6. Moderation and termination

The operator may remove content that breaks these rules and may restrict or close accounts over serious or repeated violations. If your content is removed or your account is restricted or closed and you believe that was a mistake, write to the contact address in section 13 — a person will review the decision and answer with the reason. When an account is closed — by you or by the operator — access ends immediately, and the data attached to it is handled as described in the privacy policy.

7. If the service closes

If this site ever shuts down permanently, the operator will announce it on the site reasonably in advance where circumstances allow, so that you can use your remaining coins, finish your reading, and export or delete your account data first. After a permanent closure, remaining coins lose their function: they are a licence to unlock chapters here, not money or a deposit.

8. No warranties

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular novel will stay available forever.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

10. Your statutory rights

Some rights cannot be signed away. Where the consumer law of the country you live in grants you mandatory rights — including remedies when paid digital content is not supplied or does not work as described — nothing in these terms, the refund policy, or any other page takes them from you, and any clause that would conflict with them is read as narrowed to what that law allows.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where Lamp is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may bring disputes before the courts those rules give you.

12. Changes

These terms may change. The version date above changes with them, material changes are announced on the site before they take effect, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms go to owner@lantern.cz.
